Electronic Arts cuts local team, Geneva HQ as the main hub

Today, Electronic Arts confirmed with GamesIndustry.biz that there will be a lot of EA employees who will lose their jobs in its local territory offices, even in the United Kingdom (UK).

According to the report, it is part of the restructure for EA’s international marketing and PR teams which will be based soon in their European HQ in Geneva. However, at the time of GamesIndustry.biz’s report, there is still no details about the number of employees who will be affected by this decision, and according to the publication “the UK team will be cut back significantly”; and that the majority of the changes will be done before the year ends.

“We’ve recently proposed some staffing changes in our international publishing teams as we create an international marketing hub for our organization based in Geneva,” EA told GamsIndustry.biz.

“The global audience for games continuing to grow, and this new formation will allow us to better meet those players where they are, and connect them with more experiences. This means we are adding resources in Geneva, and making some reductions in other international locations, including the UK.   “Wherever we have employees that may be impacted, we are doing everything we can to identify new opportunities at EA and assisting with their transition.” EA added.
