Dirt 5 New Trailer Focuses on Career Mode

Dirt 5

Game develop Codemasters recently released a brand new trailer for upcoming video game Dirt 5 focusing more on Career Mode.

Career mode will feature five chapters, over 130 events across nine race types, and Throwdown challenges. The game will launch on Oct. 9 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions will be available later on.

Career mode will focus more on the highly successful Dirt Series: a global racing event across different disciplines. This will feature the world’s greatest off-road racers. The player will start first with a fledgling career going up against an established field. They will be racing against superstar and fan favorite Alex AJ Janicek, and the game’s antagonist and veteran Bruno Durand. Troy Baker will be voicing AJ while Nolan North will be the voice of Bruno.

This new mode will be divided into five chapters, which offers multiple paths for players that they can choose the vents they wish to play. If they have a higher finish, they will earn more Stamps that are needed to unlock the Main Event. The final challenge is all that is standing in the player’s way to go through the next chapter. There are also one-off Throwdown challenges along the way. If they are unlocked, players will be facing the ultimate one-on-one challenge against a fierce competitor from the world circuit.

The world tour will take player across the world from the US to China and beyond. There are many in-game rewards based on performance and reputation rank. Career mode will also allow couch-play that will support up to four players. This option is available for all multi-car challenges with additional drivers replacing the AI-controlled vehicles.

Dirt 5 Development Director Robert Karp has this to say:

DIRT 5’s Career underpins the entire experience and delivers a deeply immersive playground with player choice very much at the heart of it. The addition of Troy, Nolan and Donut Media has created a living, breathing world and one where the player wants to belong and compete. Whether they can rise to the Main Event and Throwdown challenges remains to be seen.
