EA Will Be Doubling Down on Developing More Star Wars Games due to Success

Game company Electronic Arts has realized that after the big success of the Star Wars IP, they are now planning to double down on making more titles for it.

Star Wars Battlefront II Rey Skywalker

EA revealed this in a recent Fireside chat by game publication GameSpot. The executives talked about how the Star Wars IP has gotten a lot of success for the company and has realized of its big potential.

    EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated:

Up is my hope–up and to the right. We have a tremendous relationship with Disney. We have a tremendous relationship with Lucas. We have a longstanding relationship with them going all the way back to Star Wars The Old Republic that we launched in 2011.

Wilson revealed that the revival of the Battlefront franchise was one of the top-performers. Both games, Battlefront I and II, have sold a combined 35 million copies. Fallen Order has sold 10 million copies.

EA CFO Blake Jorgensen has high hopes for Star Wars Squadrons. Even if it does not sell that well, he will still be happy with the number of titles that the company has produced with their partnership of Disney and Lucas.

Fallen Order was one of the biggest hits that EA has published for the Star Wars IP and Star Wars Squadrons looks to be very promising. Hopefully the promises they gave of its features like no microtransactions and DLCs are all true and hopefully will also carry to other titles in the future.
