Game publisher Devolver Digital has officially acquired the game developer Croteam, the guys behind the popular video game series Serious Sam.
In a recent post on the official Twitter account of the publisher, it has announced that they have acquired Croteam. They jokingly said that maybe Croteam has acquired them and that either way they are married now. Well, it does sound like a marriage so it’s all good.
Here’s a part of the whole announcement on their official website stating how they have “dated for a while”:
Since then Croteam and Devolver Digital have partnered on dozens of games – from the frantic Serious Sam series to the award-winning The Talos Principle across PC, consoles, VR and mobile platforms. Croteam and Devolver Digital have been dating for so long that we decided to go ahead and just get married.
Both are excited for future endeavors and one of them is a sequel, The Talos Principle 2 or more Serious Sam games. There could even be a new original IP in the works.
We are happy for them and excited for those upcoming games they are thinking of.
