PS5 does not support native 1440p

Just less than a week more it’s already PS5’s launch. Even if this next-gen Sony console can run its games at 4K, even 8K, a new report from IGN Italy suggests the PS5 will not support 1440p.

1440p with a 120MHz refresh rate is technically the new norm for most gamers out there. It’s the new 1080p. However, the report from IGN Italy indicates that Sony told their editorial staff that it won’t natively support 1440p unlike Xbox Series X/S.

While most will have 4K and even 8K monitors/TVs ready, this leaves out a portion of those gamers who have 1440p monitors. They won’t be getting such support until Sony decides to include this in a future patch.

PlayStation 5 launches on November 12 in the U.S, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Mexico, and South Korea, while the rest of the world will have the next-gen PlayStation on November 19.
