PS3, PS Vita, and PSP Stores are officially shutting down

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially sent an important notice to everyone regarding the services the company is going to shut down — namely, the functionalities of its PS3, PS Vita, and PSP stores.

What does this mean to the owners? If you’re into collecting digital copies of the games, then you will have until July 2, 2021 before Sony turns off your ability to purchase PS3 and PSP digital games, with the PS Vita store closing on August 27, 2021.

Worry not, if you think you will lose your previously purchased digital games, you won’t. Sony stated on their notice that any of the purchases made can still be re-downloaded on your PS3, PSP, and PS Vita consoles.

Below, you can see the list of features that you still have access to:

Features you will still be able to access:

  • You will still be able to re-download and play previously purchased game titles.
  • You will still be able to access previously purchased video/media content.
  • You will still be able to redeem game and PlayStation®Plus vouchers.
  • You will still be able to re-download and play claimed game titles through PlayStation®Plus as long as you remain a member of the service.
