Cyberpunk 2077 Might Just Had More Quests in New Discovery

A new datamine suggests that controversial video game Cyberpunk 2077 might have had a lot more quests in the game, but did not make it for some reason.

Media outlet Eurogamer recently talked with a member of the modding community that goes by the username romulus_is_here and he revealed that he datamined certain archive data just recently and found out a lot of things. He used the modding tool CP77 Tools to check this data out.

Romulus believes that these new files from the recent big patch 1.2 are from the previously-unseen episode one street story quests. This means that this is possibly the very first large story-based DLC for the game and while most of these files were already available since launch, the new update was going to add more. In version 1.03, there were only five of these files but when version 1.2 got released, these went to 220 files. Eurogamer checked and confirmed that this was the case.

These files include story plots for the street stories that are not currently available on the original version of the game. There were some of them that were placeholder text, but others had extensive descriptions like objective lists and email exchanges. It even revealed a character named Wagner, which could be part of a quest. There is also a description about a hostage situation and it involved a group called the Kurtz Militia.

Romulus noted that most of these street stories will be center on the Pacifica region and the fixer Mr. Hands. The vanilla version did not have a lot of quests in that particular area and it felt unfinished. This could add more content to try out.

Aside from these street stories, there are a lot of content that could supplement the current story arcs like dialogue and text for main characters. There are also some photo mode poses that were not available in the original version. This could be released in later updates, possibly.

There is also word that CD Projekt RED is actually planning to fully redesign the whole game and make it feel a whole new different one from the original. This is a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt, but it is interesting if it were true.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are possibly coming later this year.
