It seems the price of controversial yet successful and multi-awarded video game sequel The Last of Us Part 2 just got lowered.
While this might surprise some gamers out there as to why TLOU2’s price suddenly went from $59.99 to $39.99, there is actually a reason to this. Sony Interactive Entertainment most of the time lowers the prices of their popular games after some time has passed by. Yes, even if it was really popular when it launched.
This would be the best time to visit the PlayStation Store right now and get the game on digital because it is now permanently $39.99. Just check this link for proof. Even the Digital Deluxe Edition is now cheaper with a price tag of $49.99. Other popular titles like Ghost of Tsushima will get the same treatment too later on as the Director’s Cut launches soon.
The Last of Us Part 2 is now available on PlayStation 4 and backwards compatible with the PS5.
