UPDATE: Horizon: Forbidden West Delayed to 2022

Expect to hunt machines in 2022.

Update: Journalist Jason Schreier has recently posted to confirm that SIE has decided to delay the game to 2022. To his understanding, the game company has already decided to delay the game a while ago and is not in the stage of still deciding.

Original Story

GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb recently reported on his Giant Bomb show (paywall) recently that game company Sony Interactive Entertainment is “leaning towards” getting the most anticipated video game Horizon: Forbidden West delayed to 2022.

Grubb revealed that SIE might push the release of the Guerilla Games sequel to be released next year. He also revealed that the delay might get announced in the coming State of Play live broadcast in September 2021.

SIE did say in the past that the game might not get released within this year as planned since they did not want to compromise with the quality or the health of their developers. God of War Ragnarok, the upcoming sequel was delayed to next year and with the global pandemic still going on and reports of the country of The Netherlands “advising” all workers to work at home instead of in offices, it is highly possible that this delay will happen.

No word yet from Guerilla Games to confirm this officially, so take the report with a grain of salt for now.

Horizon: Forbidden West still has no release date on the official PlayStation website, it was slated to launch this year on PlayStation 4 and PS5, but it is reported that the game is delayed.
