Bravely Default II Drops on Steam Sept 2, Pre-purchase at 10% Off

This potentially opens the door to player-created mods.

Bravely Default II is finally coming to PC on Steam beginning September 2. According to Games Radar, the formerly Switch exclusive will drop on Steam at 10 am Pacific Daytime, or 6 pm British Standard time.

Bravely Default II is currently available for pre-purchase on Steam, with players getting a 10% discount for buying the game ahead of release. This offer extends after launch, with players having the opportunity to purchase the game at 10% off the original price until September 13.

Bravely Default II initially launched on Nintendo Switch back in February. The game tells the story of four characters: Elvis Lesley, Adelle Ein, Gloria Neu Musa and Seth, and their quest to protect the elemental crystals from corruption, and to prevent the Night Nexus from destroying the world.

Developed by Square Enix, the Japanese role-playing game or JRPG features classic elements like turn-based combat and the job system.

Square Enix also announced a new mobile game, Bravely Default Brilliant Lights, for iOS and Android. The game was announced as part of the 10th anniversary of the original game, and will feature returning characters from both Bravely Default and Bravely Default II.

Bravely Default Brilliant Lights will also feature the writer of the game, Keiichi Ajiro, in the production team.

No release date has yet been indicated for “Brilliant Lights.”
