Diablo 2: Resurrected Loot Setting for Co-Op Not Available at Launch

The dev team are currently discussing of a possible update later on.

One of the higher ups of the Diablo franchise has recently confirmed in an online post that upcoming remaster Diablo 2: Resurrected will not have a certain loot setting for co-op at launch.

Diablo Franchise Executive Producer Rod Fergusson recently answered a Twitter user online about an inquiry on having the Diablo 2: Resurrected personal loot setting at launch. For those uninitiated, personal loot in a dungeon crawler game is loot that is unique to the player. Everyone gets their own loot despite being in a co-op multiplayer setting and they will not have to fight with each other for it.

In the original version of the game, there was only the universal loot setting, so in this version it seems it will persist to have that. At least for now, since Fergusson assured that the team is currently talking about implementing some other system later on. If it was going to be an optional setting for everyone, then it would be a welcome addition for players who will be playing the game soon.

There is no guarantee that the personal loot feature will be added later on, but at least the development team is in discussions with it. For now, players will have to deal with the default universal loot system at launch and possibly beyond that.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will be available on September 23, 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
