Amazon’s latest MMORPG has three New World factions for players to join in, which are the Syndicate, Covenant, and Marauders. Here are the differences between each faction and what you can get by joining them.
New World All Factions
When you reach a certain level in the game, you will be visited by three representatives from each New World faction. There are three factions that players can follow in New World. These are the Syndicate, Marauders, and the Covenant. Here are their short descriptions:
Syndicate
One of the New World factions that you get introduced ton is the Syndicate. This particular faction is a secretive organization that is looking for forbidden knowledge for its own goals. They are more on the stealthy side of things and spying. If you want to get to know more intelligence, then this is the faction for you.
Marauders
The Marauders are more of a military force where they brute force everything in the New World factions list. They are more on the strength and loves of freedom. For those who are into closed quarters fighting and have a lot of HP then this is the faction for you to follow.
Covenant
The third and last of the New World factions is the Covenant, which is more of a group of religious fanatics. They are here to “purge” the land of impurities and heretics and restore justice. If you are for holy wars and exacting “justice” on the evildoers, then this is the faction for you.
Can You Play with Other New World Factions?
Since you have chosen your New World Faction to follow, you would think that you are now limited to only following your fellow faction mates and not join with others in dungeon raids and such. This is not actually true because you can still play with other players that have joined other New World factions, but there is a condition.
You can play with other players in different New World factions, but there is a limit on the PvP side. In PvP battle, it is strictly the same factions and you will not be able to join your friends on other factions. In other game modes though, you can invite them to join you.
The three New World factions are at war with each other so it does make sense that the members will be hostile to the others. You can play with them in PvE, but in PvP, you should be with your faction mates only.
How to Change Factions in New World?
You can change New World factions if you do not like your first pick! If this is your first time changing sides, then it will be quicker to do. If it is the second time though, you will have to wait for a long time before you can change sides again. It takes 120 days to switch so make sure you are completely satisfied with your choices. This is to prevent players from jumping ship and joining the winning faction at a later time.
3 steps to Switch Factions in New World
- Press the ‘K’ key to open up the Character menu.
- Check the first tab named Bio and then find a button that says Change Faction on the left side. If you are under a Company, this will not be available.
- Press Change Faction Button.
If you press the button, you will be able to see a menu letting you choose which new faction to join. This is just located on the bottom of the faction banner you are currently joined. Remember, choose the one that you are going to be satisfied with, or else you will have to wait for another 120 days before you can switch to another one.
