How to Get the Platinum Trophy in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

To get the Platinum trophy for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, you’ll need to collect the other 58 Trophies. Overall, there are 59 trophies in the game. If you want the Platinum Trophy, you’ll need to find half of the Guardian Collectibles and all of the Outfits.

Finding missing items in Chapter Select does not save them. Nothing you find through Chapter Select is saved or counts towards trophies or achievements. In addition, changing your choices for later chapters does not update them. But the Collectibles do carry over. Depending on what you missed, you may need to replay the entire game.

A few Collectibles are also tied to specific Story choices, making them easy to miss. All Collectibles are missable because your progress in Chapter Select reverts to when you first played the Chapter, except Outfits. Some Collectibles also cancel each other out, making it impossible to get them all in one playthrough. However, no need to worry as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy require collecting all outfits, but only 65% completion of all Galactic Compendium entries of each category.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Galactic Compendium

Only Items and Archives from the Galactic Compendium are required. Once you’ve returned to your spaceship, find the Guardian Collectibles and interact with them to receive the items. Always interact with the items in a timely manner to prevent them from becoming unusable or glitching later in the game.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy – All Trophies

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has a total of 59 Trophies (including the Platinum), 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 54 Bronze trophies. 25 of them are hidden trophies. Below is a complete list of all the Trophies in the game, along with descriptions on how to obtain them.

How to Get Trophy: Drax the Dismemberer (Bronze)

The Inquisitor is a big robot with a laser eye, one of the enemies you’ll face in Chapter 7. To obtain the Drax the Dismemberer trophy, you must attack the Inquisitor to reduce their health or stun them. When a ( △ ) button appears, use Drax’s Call to Action. The prompt appears when the Inquisitor is damaged or stunned, but since you can only control Star-Lord in this game, it won’t always be Drax attacking it. Either let the other team members die or restart the checkpoint until Drax attacks to satisfy the conditions in getting this trophy.

How to Get Trophy: Groot Canal (Bronze)

First Chargers a.k.a. Ogrode monsters are golems with brown heads that you will encounter in Chapter 10 of the game. To obtain the Groot Canal trophy, you must weaken them to about 15% health and/or stun them in order to defeat them. There’s a 1:4 probability that Groot will walk up to one of these enemies and snag their throat for a finishing move. Then a ( △ ) prompt must appear in order for Groot’s Call to Action to be activated.

Groot can only use this technique after he has already picked up the adversary and lifted it off the ground. Groot will not always behave in this manner. You will encounter three of these Charger adversaries in total. So if you don’t get him to do it on the first two, simply restart the checkpoint and try again. It can take up to 15 restarts before he gets it right the first time.

How to Get Trophy: Slakebuster (Bronze)

Slakebeast, are blue four legged creatures with squid faces that you’ll find in Chapter 3. To obtain the Slakebuster trophy, you must reduce their health or stun them. If you do it successfully, a quick time event prompt should appear and you must press triangle ( △ ) on your controller to have one of your teammates perform their Call to Action. Since this trophy requires Drax to perform his Call to Action, make sure that you are always near him, as most these instances are largely based on probabilities. You can also let your teammates die, or restart the checkpoint until you get Drax to answer the Call to Action.
