Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Already Beaten by Speedrunner

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom was just recently released today, but somebody has already speedrun the game and completed the game in a short time.

Zelda speedrunner gynast86 has recently revealed in a YouTube video their full speedrun of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. His run did not even use any amiibo, which makes it even more impressive. Scanning any Zelda-related amiibo would offer some bonuses to the game, which gives players an advantage so not doing that just proves they have the skills.

Speedrunner gynmast86 revealed that their speedrun time is 1:34:33. This is probably the fastest speedrun today and in the coming days and weeks, that might change.

In another video, the speedrunner explained how they pulled this speedrun off. They said that they followed the basic route and some interesting tricks that helped them bypass some areas. He also notes that almost none of the glitches that were present in Breath of the Wild seem to have made it into the sequel.

“That doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t ever be able to perform these glitches, but just that the methods we know of activating them in Breath of the Wild won’t work in this game,” they said.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
