Blizzard officially announces Overwatch 2 Pride Month event bringing forth new themed content and also big reveals for a few characters.
Overwatch 2 Pride Month Starts Soon
The team behind the controversial game Overwatch 2 has now announced that it will be celebrating Pride Month for the first time starting on June 1, 2023. This will be celebrated for the whole month of June and will introduce unique cosmetics, map changes, and more.
Starting June 1, 2023, players who will log into Overwatch 2 will get an extensive collection of new profile Player Icons and Name cards celebrating the many diverse identities that make up its gaming community.
Specific Name Cards
Name Cards offer players how to choose their identity within the game, including specific ones dedicated to some of the game’s LGBTQ+ heroes. Here are the heroes who will have those cards:
- Tracer – Lesbian Card
- Soldier: 76 – Gay Card
- Lifeweaver – Pansexual Card
- Baptiste – Bisexual Card
- Pharah – Lesbian Card
Maps Getting Updated
The Midtown map will be updated to honor Pride Month and the original Stonewall riots that inspired this annual celebration. This will take place shortly after a Pride parade. Watchpoint: Gibraltar will have an additional new photo in the barracks of Tracer and her partner Emily.
New Pride Cosmetics
Pride cosmetics will be added automatically to every player’s account starting on June 1, 2023 together with all future accounts created in the game. Here are the cosmetics included:

Two Characters’ Sexual Orientations Finally Confirmed
Blizzard has also confirmed the sexual orientations of both Baptiste and Pharah for Pride Month. It has been a long time since these two characters have been speculated by the fans and now the developers finally made it clear. Aside from their Pride cosmetics, Blizzard will publish a new short story focusing on their identities, each other, and themselves.
Overwatch 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
