CAPCOM has recently announced its final Monster Hunter Rise event which will stream in a few days.
Monster Hunter Rise first launched two years ago, in March 2021. It first came out on Nintendo Switch but was later released on more platforms, first on PC in January 2022, and later on other console platforms like PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It had numerous events, content, missions, and a major expansion: Sunbreak. It seemed that CAPCOM was going to keep this game’s run for a long time just like its predecessor Monster Hunter World. It seems that is now about to change with its latest announcement.
Monster Hunter Rise Final Event Happening Next Week
CAPCOM has now confirmed that it will be streaming Monster Hunter Rise’s final event on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 7 AM PDT. The development team has not shared any other details yet, but it is expected that there will be a Bonus Update revealed during the livestream. It was also revealed that during the developer roundtable, the team will be reflecting on how they brought Rise and Sunbreak to life.
MH: World Had a Good Run
It is surprising though that the game is now ending its events. CAPCOM’s one of the most popular Monster Hunter titles, World, had a good run with lots of content to enjoy despite being only limited to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
The Next Monter Hunter
So what is next for Monster Hunter? Since this will be the final event for Rise, then the only conclusion is the development of a new Monster Hunter title on the horizon. Monster Hunter 6 or whatever it will be called when it gets announced later has a lot to live up for. Monster Hunter World sold over 20 million copies worldwide while the successor sold over 12 million copies so the stakes are really high. It will definitely have a new theme, but it will be different from the two successful predecessors.
