Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have officially released the Mortal Kombat 1 Jean-Claude Van Damme trailer.
The popular martial artist actor finally comes to Mortal Kombat 1 after long negotiations with JCVD’s party and NetherRealm Studios. They got the actor to consent to use his likeness and voice in the game and his skin is actually quite just like him during the Bloodsport days.
The new official trailer was released after the first JCVD footage was shown during an interview with the Hot Ones YouTube show by First We Feast channel. Series Co-Creator Ed Boon was there to promote the upcoming video game.
Just as expected, the JCVD skin easily matches with Johnny Cage’s moveset since this character was originally inspired by the actor in the early days of the Mortal Kombat series. Aside from the looks, he has a slightly different dialogue compared to the original Johnny Cage in the game, which makes the skin unique from the others.
The new trailer showed lots of gameplay focused on Johnny Cage with the JCVD skin plus a new Fatality that might not have been shown in other videos yet. It involves a car, a door, and an enemy getting cut in half.
Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19, 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
