Mafia The Old Country Trophy Guide & How to Get Platinum

The Mafia series is known for its gritty stories and cinematic storytelling. Mafia: The Old Country takes us back to where it all began: Sicily, the birthplace of everything we’ve come to associate with the 1930s American Mafia. Yes, I’m about protection money, initiation rituals, and Made Men. It all began on an island at the tip of Italy’s boot. More than that, The Old Country reminds us that cycles of violence and vengeance tend to repeat themselves. Something that’s been accepted as an inevitable outcome throughout the Mafia Trilogy.

In this Mafia: The Old Country Trophy Guide, I’ll tell you what you need to do to get that coveted Platinum trophy. Get ready to sharpen your blade skills and practice that shooting arm. We’ll be in it for the long haul. I hope you like traveling the countryside and collecting random stuff. There will be lots to do in this game.

There are 51 trophies to collect out there in the Sicilian countryside:

    • 1 Platinum trophy

At first glance, you’d think this is your typical trophy run. Yes, and no. What many players seem to overlook with these types of games is the challenge requirements and the number of collectibles to look out for. The former just requires you to look at the fine print during that certain chapter segment. Thankfully, chapters can be replayed, giving you ample opportunity to get any missed trophies. The latter, on the other hand, is a time-consuming task that requires you to explore both the open world and replay past chapters, if need be.

The first thing you need to consider is whether you want to play the game on normal or on hard mode. There’s no problem with doing a fast and dirty first playthrough for the story and then proceeding to play on Hard difficulty to unlock the True Soldato Gold Trophy.

The only thing you need to keep in mind is that the challenge trophies will be slightly harder to get in this mode. Enemies will require 2-3 headshots to take down consistently, on top of being generally more tanky. Stealth is also more unforgiving, making it harder to do stealth-related trophies. I’m not telling you that you should take the long way; I’m just telling you what to expect if you’re trying to get everything done in a single playthrough.

It’s not a stretch to say that the ‘The Collector’ Gold Trophy is the most misery-inducing trophy to get in the entirety of Mafia: The Old Country. It requires you to complete the collections for four different collectibles!

    • 50 Newspapers
    • 23 Photographs
    • 20 Saint’s Cards
    • 50 Hidden Foxes

If there is a silver lining to this Herculean task, it is in the fact that most of the collectibles appear in the minimap, should you come close to one when exploring the open world, and considering you go to nearly every location on the map, getting the majority of the collectibles is possible. BUT! Here’s the rub.

A handful of collectibles appear inside missions. You’ll need to replay those missions to get them. Thankfully, the map shows you which collectible you missed and will even go so far as to mark the exact location, as well as the name of the chapter you need to replay.

The Hidden Foxes is what I consider the bane of my trophy hunting existence. Not only are these little… buggers not marked on the map, they appear inside most missions that require stealth at some point.

Note: As of the September 22nd, 2025 update, a fix was introduced that addressed a bug that removes the Mystery Fox from the weapon seller if you try to purchase it without having enough Dinari in your pocket. The bug ran the risk of soft locking you, preventing you from acquiring The Collector trophy.

To get the Live by the Sword Bronze trophy, you need to perform the special actions for each of the game’s knives 5 times each.

The Stiletto Knife is the easiest of the three; all it requires is to get 5 kills with it equipped. Second is the Rasolu Knife. This one is best used during honor fights. Doing 5 combat takedowns should be enough to fulfill the requirements. And finally, there’s the Scannaturi Knife. This one allows you to perform takedowns on distant targets. Just throw your knife at 5 unsuspecting enemies, and you should be good.

In order to unlock the Salvatore’s Apprentice Bronze Trophy early, you’ll need to cheat a little bit. During a mission in Chapter 3, Luca will bring you along on a collection run. Your chance will appear once you get money from the farmer and his son.

In this instance, the typical response is to follow Luca’s instructions and find the note that has the combination on it. You will not be doing that. Instead, you will go straight to the vault and input the following combination:

    10-20-30

If you do it right, the safe will unlock, and the trophy notification should appear on screen.

The Fantasma Silver trophy is acquired when you reach Chapter 5. The trophy requires you to infiltrate Ludovici’s villa without alerting anyone. It doesn’t matter if you trigger an alarm or not; if someone sees you, the trophy is void for that run. If you ever get caught, you can always reload the previous autosave. Do note that this will set you all the way outside the villa.

The Old Ways Silver trophy is an interesting one. Done in Chapter 9 – Industria, this challenge requires reaching the foreman’s office without alerting any enemies. The Stilleto is your best bet on this one. There are a lot of enemies roaming around, and you’ll likely need to rely on its durability to thin out the herd without worrying too much about keeping the blade sharp. Take your time on this one, and remember to hide bodies in containers, as you’ll lose the trophy the moment a body has been discovered.

The Trail of Destruction Silver trophy is acquired in Chapter 11 – Mattanza. The best way to guarantee the trophy is if you target the drivers in the most efficient way possible. Don’t forget that the gunners will still take potshots at you for a brief moment even when the pursuing car no longer has a driver. While it is technically possible to miss this trophy, it is unlikely, considering how many cars are pursuing you during the escape.

Lastly, let’s talk about ‘The Finer Things’ Bronze trophy. There are a total of 7 cars that need to be purchased from any garage on the map. The cars aren’t tied to story progress to unlock, for the most part. I say this because you don’t get access to cars in general until you reach the mid-game. You’ll need roughly 11,000 Dinari to buy all the cars required to unlock the trophy.

The fastest way to earn Dinari is to find Trinacria coins and exchange them for Dinari. You should also make it a habit of picking the pockets of fallen enemies. All that loose change will amount to a hefty sum in totality.

And that’s about it for this trophy guide. The rest of the trophies, you can attempt at your leisure while playing in Free Roam mode. This also extends to mission-based trophies and collectibles. I guess the only thing not counted for is the Garden Rendezvous Bronze trophy, since it’s an optional objective you can do before doing one of the missions.
