CD Projekt Red has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, a brand-new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt scheduled to launch in 2027.
The upcoming expansion marks the return of Geralt of Rivia, bringing players back into the role of the legendary monster slayer for a completely new adventure set in the world of The Witcher.
CD Projekt Red confirmed that the expansion is being co-developed alongside Fool’s Theory, a studio made up of developers who previously worked on The Witcher 3. The collaboration aims to expand the critically acclaimed RPG with a fresh storyline while maintaining the style and quality fans expect from the franchise.
While gameplay details and story information remain under wraps, the studio stated that additional details about Songs of the Past will be revealed in late summer 2026.
Originally released in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remains one of the most successful role-playing games of all time, selling more than 60 million copies worldwide and earning hundreds of Game of the Year awards throughout the years.
The expansion is currently planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
