Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Third Shift have announced that Forever Ago will launch on October 8, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, offering another look at the narrative-driven adventure ahead of its release later this year.
Forever Ago is a third-person single-player road trip adventure centered on Alfred, a man attempting to move forward following a personal tragedy. Armed with an instant camera and traveling in his minivan, Alfred embarks on a journey north in search of redemption, new experiences, and a fresh perspective on life.
Throughout the adventure, players will explore a variety of scenic locations, including forests, deserts, and mountain landscapes. Along the way, Alfred encounters new people, uncovers stories hidden within the environment, and documents his travels through photography.
The instant camera serves as more than just a storytelling device. Players will use photographs to record memories and solve environmental puzzles while learning more about the world and the people who inhabited it.
Developer Third Shift describes Forever Ago as an emotional journey exploring themes of love, loss, healing, and redemption. Supporting the experience is an original soundtrack composed by Clark Aboud, known for his work on Slay the Spire.
With its focus on exploration, character-driven storytelling, and reflective themes, Forever Ago aims to deliver a more personal adventure when it arrives later this year.
Forever Ago launches on October 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
