Microsoft Executive Vice President of Gaming Phil Spencer assured the gaming community that they will honor the PlayStation 5 exclusivity for two Bethesda games.
In an exclusive interview with Bloomberg, Spencer confirmed that the PS5 exclusivity for both Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop will remain. These games will be timed exclusives for the next-gen console and will eventually be available on other platforms.
Bloomber’s Jason Schreier also confirmed that the future games from Bethesda will be on Xbox console systems, PC, and other consoles. The latter will be a case by case basis, which means there is still hope for PS5 versions.
Timed exclusivity usually lasts 12 months, but these two games did not have specific details on their particular deal so we will have to wait for Bethesda to make clarifications.
The acquisition of ZeniMax, Bethesda’s parent company, by Microsoft has become a popular topic today and has rattled some PlayStation fans if some of its games will not come to their platforms. With this confirmation, hopefully that has been answered. It is still up to Bethesda on which platforms they will release their games on, but it will lean more on Xbox and PC now.
