Notorious PS5 scalper group ChepChiefNotify claims that they have acquired over 1,000 Xbox Series X consoles from an unknown retailer.
The group recently boasted this news on their social media accounts stating:
We just notified our members of a Xbox Series X restock on a very well known online retailer. They have now managed to secure over 1000+ today and there’s still many hours left. You snooze you lose.
It is said that this scalper group is a UK based company and has recently launched somewhere in the US. They use a bot software in acquiring items like the PS5 and now the Xbox Series X automatically. Now they are trying to sell these consoles for twice, thrice, and sometimes four times the original MSRP.
This group was asked if they felt regret for doing this, but they always adamantly replied that they did not. They have reasons for doing this and justify their doings.
As of now, some retailers are making strategies in order to avoid scalping, but most of them have failed so far. It is still rampant and the practice is ongoing. Hopefully, a new system can be implemented later on to prevent this happening ever again.
