American comic book publisher DC Comics has recently announced that it is making a new direct-to-video animated movie based on popular action fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us.
DC nor Warner Bros. Animation has not formally announced this animated movie, but it was revealed via the press release of upcoming animated adaptation Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two. It was revealed that one of the bonus features included on the upcoming Blu-ray set will be the trailer of the upcoming animated movie.
In the press release, there were no other details revealed about the upcoming Injustice animated movie, but it did state that The Long Halloween, Part Two will be released sometime in July 2021. It is possible that the upcoming animated movie will be shown sometime later this year.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is the story of the Justice League set in another DC universe where Superman’s wife, Lois, was set up by the Joker and was killed by his husband by tricking him. In turn, Superman goes berserk, kills Joker, and becomes a super tyrant that rules that particular Earth. The regular Justice League gets trapped into that alternate universe and chaos ensues.
Hopefully, the upcoming animated movie will follow closely to the video game stories and comics.
Thanks, IGN!
