Valve has finally put the final inking on the Steam Deck release date, which will be launching next month.
Yes, you heard that right, the date is now final and in no way Valve is changing them again. The official release date of the Steam Deck will be on February 25, 2022, according to the game company and they will send out the first batch of order emails to the reservation holders during this day. Those who do will have 3 days from receipt of their order email to make the purchase. If they fail to comply, their reservation will be released to the next person that is on queue. Those who were unlucky to get in line earlier will have to wait a bit.
The first units of the Steam Deck will be coming to customers all over the world starting February 28, 2022 and more order email batches will be released at a weekly time. So wait for Valve to send your order emails so you can reserve your units right away and do it quickly too.
Valve has revealed there are already press units being sent to unknown locations right now for full review. The public will get to read those reviews on February 25, 2022 as the review embargo for the Steam Deck coverage will lift on that day. Before that though, there will be some previews and impressions, but not the full review.
Keep in mind these details though:
- Valve will start sending invites shortly after 10:00 am on February 25th, PST
- Order emails are sent in the same order that reservations were made.
- You can only order the Steam Deck model that you originally reserved.
- Your reservation deposit will be applied to the final price of Steam Deck, and shipping costs are included.
Who is excited to get their Steam Deck unit, finally? We will keep you guys posted if there are some “rash” changes from Valve along the way.
