Aliens: Dark Descent Length – How Long to Beat

While trying to strategically lead your squad through alien-infested environments, you may be wondering how long it will take to beat Aliens: Dark Descent, with each careful step you take taking you deeper into the danger. The length of time it takes to beat any game usually varies depending on several factors, but this single-player squad based RTS may take quite some time to fully complete. Just one mistake can really set you back, so you’ll have to take your time to think carefully.

Read on as we tell you how long to beat Aliens: Dark Descent on average, so you’ll know how much time you have to invest to clear this game.

How Long is Aliens: Dark Descent?

Aliens: Dark Descent will take around 13 to 15 hours to complete on average. Each mission can take about 20 minutes up to a full hour to beat, according to the developers of the game, depending on the objectives and how tough the environment is to navigate.

Because of the Xenomorph AI in the game, you’ll want to take it slow per mission. While you can play aggressively and rack up the kill count, this will not be beneficial in the long run. The more you’re spotted by the Xenomorphs, the more aggressive and numerous they’ll become. Your squad will also be hit with certain debuffs, like panicking under pressure, and may even ignore your orders, which will affect the length of time needed to complete the game. You’ll need to monitor both the physical and mental health of your squad to complete missions smoothly.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a tough game where one mistake will set you back. Taking the time to learn how to build your own squad and approach each scenario will take a slow and careful approach. Each squad member has their own class specializations, perks, and upgrades that you can invest in to make them tougher.

The missions in Aliens: Dark Descent are open-ended. Right from where you’re dropped off, you’re free to explore the map at your own pace. You can discover shortcuts, force open doors, and even weld them shut, which provides an advantage. You’re encouraged to be careful and stealthy in this game, as going in loud and guns blazing will result in more dangerous encounters against the Xenomorph. So choose your fights carefully.

That’s how long it takes to beat Aliens: Dark Descent. There is a lot of replay value in the game, so you’ll be coming back to tackle missions again for a better outcome than before.
