Focus Entertainment and Tindalos Interactive have officially announced the Aliens Dark Descent release date with a new gameplay trailer.
According to the video exclusive to IGN, Aliens Dark Descent is a real-time tactical action game. Think The Bureau XCOM Declassified in XCOM 2 top-down view crossing over with the Aliens franchise. It has the XCOM gameplay mechanics but in real-time where players will need to decide their commands to squad members in a slowed-time scene. It will not be paused, but players will have ample time to decide before they make their next move.
In Aliens Dark Descent, players will be commanding a small squad of Colonial Marines after their ship crash-landed on Planet Lethe. They will be investigating a Xenomorph outbreak there and try to stay alive. They can recruit more members to add to the squad, but they must tread carefully as death is permanent in this game.
Aliens Dark Descent launches on June 20, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
