One of the optional objectives in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is to retrieve Mr. Crab’s Lost Pennies, and completing it will give players 1 Golden Doubloon for Bikini Bottom. But where do you even begin looking for these collectibles? Read on for a full walkthrough.
How to Start the Lost Pennies Side Quest?
This objective will be available after defeating Admiral Prawn’s crew in the Pirate Goo Lagoon map campaign and making Krabby Patties for hungry residents. If you’ve already done this, talk to Mr. Krabs (you should see a bubble with a red flag on top of his head) in front of Chum Bucket to start the Lost Pennies Side Quest.
Tips: You may quickly travel to any checkpoint on the map by using the fast travel to checkpoints feature. To do this, open your world map and select on the little clams that represent various areas throughout the map.
Retrieving all 5 lost pennies in the game takes place in the Pirate Goo Lagoon map. Here’s how you can find and collect them in order:
Lost Pennies #1: Bongo Beach
Fast-travel to the Bongo Beach checkpoint and head over the island beside the waterfall to the right. Once there, take the path to your left and you’ll find the lost penny next to a wrecked ship.
Lost Pennies #2: Scurvy Swamp
Fast-travel to the Scurvy Swamp checkpoint and make your way over to the island in the middle of the region, where a huge tree stands. Once there, head north and find a small island (based on the image above) containing the lost penny. Simply make your way across the moveable bridge to get it.
Lost Pennies #3: Sand Castle
Fast-travel to the Sand Castle checkpoint, then descend the tower and enter the room in the middle by destroying the Tikis in the entrance. The lost penny is locked in a cage inside. Just use SpongeBob’s spin attack on it and collect the penny.
Lost Pennies #4: Shipwreck Treasure
Fast-travel to the Shipwreck Treasure checkpoint. Once there, immediately look to your right and you’ll find the lost penny floating on top of a wooden platform.
Lost Pennies #5: Port Jelly Royal
Fast-travel to the Port Jelly Royal checkpoint and make your way to the second island. After reaching the second port, head over to your right, and you’ll find the last penny floating on top of a boat.
