AMD Radeon RX6800 Benchmark: It Takes Two

Electronic Arts (EA) and Hazelight recently launched their co-op-driven, rom-com action-adventure platformer last week Friday. And my goodness, the game was magnificent. You can read our review right here.

While we did the review on PS5, we were also given a PC code. We had issues with the console code at first, but EA was kind enough to provide us a PC key (via Origin). We wanted to take this opportunity to show you the benchmark results of It Takes Two running on an AMD Radeon RX 6800. The results were great, but hiccups were encountered along the way especially during 1440P and 4K resolutions.

During a playthrough from the beginning of the game to the “Tree” chapter, the frames per second (FPS) were pretty consistent above 100, however, when we scale the resolution from 1080P to 4K, the performance hit was pretty significant.

Right before we show the performance charts, here’s the full PC specifications:

    CPUAMD RYZEN 7 2700
    GPUAMD RADEON RX 6800
    MOTHERBOARDASUS TUF B450M-PLUS
    RAMKINGSTON HYPERX 2X8GB DDR4 3200MHZ
    PSUSEASONIC M12 II EVO 750W
    HDDWESTERN DIGITAL 1TB CAVIAR BLUE

Here are the frames per second comparison in Ultra presets across three different resolutions:

It Takes Two runs surprising well on 4K, while there are hiccups where it freezes for only half a second or so when switching scenes — this is also present in the lower resolutions. I believe there can more improvements Hazelight can do for the AMD card, but it’s been far a great experience overall playing it on PC.

Stay tuned for our benchmark comparsion for It Takes Two between the AMD Radeon RX 6800 and the Nvidia RTX 2070 soon.

It Takes Two is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Origin.

We would like to extend our thanks to AMD for supplying us the graphics card to do this benchmark, and as well as EA for the game code.
