AMD’s newest graphics card is out and about — the AMD Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT. With the latest RDNA 2 architecture that powers the next-generation consoles – the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, AMD is pushing to compete toe to toe with Nvidia’s RTX graphics card line-up.

In the age of realistic volumetric light and real-time reflections, ray-tracing is the key to enhance your visual gaming experience. The AMD Radeon RX 6000 series is the first graphics card line-up of the brand to support ray-tracing.

To even excite players more with AMD FidelityFX, the tech demo video below showcases this astonishing feature titled Hangar 21:

The demo showcases how studios can take advantage of these mutliple methods to achieve photo-realism visuals without sacrificing performance. With the combination of rasterization, compute effects, and ray-tracing, all of these combined can create mind-blowing visuals in today’s games.

AMD FidelityFX is currently available on games such as Detroit: Become Human, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Monster Hunter: World – Iceborne, Gears 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition, and more! To see the full list of supported games, be sure to click here.

It’s exciting to see such innovation AMD has brought to the competition. Having the feature fairly new to AMD’s latest graphics cards, it might take a while for developers to implement this to their current games as current ray-tracing techniques are heavily optimized to Nvidia’s RTX cards. Fear not, AMD will catch up really soon.

AMD Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT are currently out in the wild. Be sure to check with your local retailers for stock availability. You may also want to check what the AMD Radeon RX 6800 looks like here, and stay tuned for our review.
