Apex Legends Catalyst Abilities Explained

Ferrofluid is the key.

Respawn Entertainment has recently released new information about the Apex Legends Catalyst abilities.

Apex Legends Catalyst Abilities Based on Ferrofluid

On the game’s official website, new information about the new Legend Catalyst was released. Tressa Crystal Smith is a Defensive Conjurer who grew up on Boreas, loves crystals, and spent their time doing readings with them. She learned to use ferrofluid and use it with a certain witchy flair, which became her special ability in the Apex Games.

All Three Abilities

Catalyst’s tactical ability is the Piercing Spikes. She would throw out a patch of ferrofluid which turns into spikes when enemies are near. She is the only one immune to her and enemy spikes.

Catalyst’s passive ability is called Barricade. She can use the ferrofluid to reinforce doors, strengthening them and locking them to enemies. Areas with the doors destroyed can be reinforced again, which is helpful for defensive tactics.

Catalyst’s ultimate ability is the Dark Veil. She would raise a permeable wall of ferrofluid to protect herself and her team. Enemies who would walk through it will be slowed and partially blinded for a short time.

Apex Legends is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
