Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry New Game Modes Details

Here is a brief overview of all the game mode changes that will be coming to Apex Legends Season 16.

Team Deathmatch

The iconic Team Deathmatch mode is coming to Apex Legends. Players will join squads and drop into 6 vs 6 matches where points are scored for killing opponents, and the best of three rounds wins the match.

Mixtape Rotating Game Modes

Coming shortly after the launch of Revelry, Apex Legends will be introducing a brand-new persistent playlist of rotating modes called Mixtape. The new feature will give players more ways to compete as they can jump into fan-favorite game modes with little downtime.

The current ones in the rotation are:

  • Gun Run
  • Control
  • Team Deathmatch

This will launch 3 weeks after the launch of Season 16 and after everyone has tried out the new Team Death Match mode.

What is New Player Onboarding in Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry?

First-time players in the Outlands can try the new Orientation Match system, which creates an easy introduction where new players can gather their bearings and learn the core mechanics of Apex Legends. These players have the option to go in solo or bring their friends along to eliminate bots before joining the rest of the player base in the matchmaking queue.

Upon the start of Apex Legends Season 16, players new and old will have a new set of challenges called the “Welcome Challenges”. Its aim is to teach new players the tricks players have taken as common knowledge over the years. Veterans of the game can still do it, and they can claim a new Badge for their troubles.

What Changes are made to Firing Range in Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry?

And finally, the Firing Range will see a couple of updates that will prove useful to anyone wanting to understand the game and its various mechanics. The details go far too deep for this overview article, but you can check out our article for a more detailed breakdown.

The firing range updates also don’t stop there. More changes are in the works over the next couple of seasons. What we see next in the range will depend entirely on player feedback from this season.

Is Arenas Getting Removed from Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry?

Yes. You heard that right, Arenas is going to be sunset this upcoming season. The reason why they are sunsetting the game mode is that the mode itself is too high stakes, and because of that, creativity and fun went out the window. They didn’t want another competitive experience besides their already sweaty ranked mode in BR. So now they are going to introduce the far friendlier, Team Deathmatch mode.

Apex Legends Season 16: Revelry is coming to PC (via Steam) and all mainline consoles starting on February 14, 2023. Check out the launch trailer here.
