Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller to Launch Alongside New Game

Nicolas Doucet, Studio Head at Team Asobi, has revealed on the official PlayStation Blog a limited edition DualSense wireless controller inspired by the upcoming Astro Bot game. The controller, featuring Astro’s signature blue accents, sci-fi lines, and playful eyes on the touchpad, will be available in limited quantities starting September 6, 2024.

The new Astro Bot game, set to release on the same day, promises a supersized space adventure with over 50 planets, new powerups, enemies, secrets, and PlayStation-themed characters. The DualSense controller will play a key role in the game, even becoming a living character aiding Astro on his mission.

Team Asobi has worked closely with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create this limited edition controller, which Doucet describes as a “true work of art.” The design reflects Astro’s playful personality and the futuristic aesthetic of the game.

In addition to its unique design, players will feel the various surfaces Astro traverses, from grass and sand to metal and water. The adaptive triggers will also provide a dynamic feel when using Astro’s new powerups, such as the Barkster bulldog jetpack.

Pre-orders for the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller will open on August 9, 2024, through retailers worldwide for only $79.99/ €79.99 / £69.99 / ¥11,980.

Astro Bot will launch on September 6, 2024, exclusively for the PS5.
