Awakening is the first chapter in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which follows the story of a young Na’vi and the rest of their kin being kept and raised as soldiers by the RDA. The Na’vi uprising happens, and the young Na’vi are caught within the crossfires of the natives and the RDA as they explore Pandora after being kept away from it for so long. Read ahead as we go through the events of Awakening in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and share some tips on how to complete the chapter.
The story starts off with a scene in an RDA facility where young Na’vi are being taught by Dr. Alma Cortez in her Na’vi suit. John Mercer, the head of the facility’s operation, then pays them a visit. Aha’ri, one of the young Na’vi, confronts him and asks why they are being kept in the facility, but Mercer reminds them that they should be grateful for being taken in by the RDA after their own families abandoned them.
Later that night, the young Na’vi got into an argument with each other. Aha’ri convinces the rest that they should stand up against the RDA and make their escape from the facility. They managed to get the gate unlocked, but they were immediately caught by Mercer and his team. Aha’ri tries to resist and get out of the facility, but she is then shot dead by Mercer, leaving everyone else mourning for her death.
Eight years have passed, and the young Na’vi has already grown up. Once again, the young Na’vi are in their classroom, being taught by Dr. Cortez, when Mercer instructs her to evacuate due to the insurgency led by Jake Sully. Dr. Cortez tells her students to evacuate, but Mercer tells her to leave at once. Mercer then orders his men to eliminate the Na’vi, but Dr. Cortez comes back and shoots the guards, allowing the Na’vi to flee.
They then head into the cryochambers, where Dr. Cortez plans to hide the Na’vi inside the cryopods and be safe until the strife is over. At this point, players are sent to the character creation screen, where they can customize the look of their Na’vi.
An undetermined time has passed, and the Na’vi are woken up by Dr. Cortez again, but this time she is accompanied by some Na’vi fighters who are helping them in their rescue.
Find Some Food
As the rescue team makes sure that everyone has been woken up and stabilized, your first task is to look for food. Follow the path into the canteen by crouching through the corridors until you find a chest on the table. Open it to get some Dry RDA Rations.
Pay attention to the two bars below the screen. The upper bar shows your health, while the lower bar shows your energy. Eating food will restore your energy, and as long as you have energy, your health will slowly regenerate over time. Hold L1 / Q to open the Food Wheel and hold Square / F to consume food.
Keep an eye out on the hunger alert and make sure that you have food on hand. Additionally, when energy is depleted, you will stop recovering health over time. Consume food to restore energy.
Once you get back to your group at the cryovault, you will hear shouts warning everyone that Mercer and his men are coming. You see them discovering the cryopods that were used. You make your escape, but the guards see you and open fire at you.
Return to Alma/Escape TAP
You manage to escape behind a door, but Mercer’s men are in pursuit. Continue going through the ruins of the facility as the game guides you through the movement controls.
To do a Charged Jump and reach higher ledges and platforms, hold X / Spacebar.
To perform a Punch against enemies, press R3 / V when you are in melee range. Look for vent grates on your path, as you can punch these to get access through the vents.
Talk to the Na’vi
Eventually, you will meet up with So’lek, one of the Na’vi warriors. He gives you a radio that you can use to talk to them as you make your escape.
Find a way past the RDA soldiers
Continue going down the path, and you will eventually reach a room that is heavily patrolled by guards. You will need to stealthily get past them by paying attention to their patrol paths and avoiding their line of vision.
Find a way to open the door to the gym
You will find a door with a broken lock on your way to the gym. Interact with the panel, and your Na’vi will successfully fix the lock.
You’ll arrive at the gym, which also has guards. Stay away from their detection as you make your way to the next door. Continue following the path, which appears to be run down, suggesting that a long time has passed since the cryo sleep.
Upon reaching the mess hall, an AMP will stop you. Mercer and his men arrive to capture you, but So’lek comes in and shoots at them, allowing you to make your escape.
Follow the path up ahead, and you will eventually reach the forest of Pandora.
