The game director of Baldur’s Gate 3 has recently shared new details of his plans for Larian Studios’ upcoming new game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 became the most popular game this year due to its hugely successful launch on PC. Riding on this, an upcoming PS5 version of the game is coming soon with an Xbox Series X/S version at a later date also this year, bringing it to a much larger audience. So, what is next for the developers of the game, Larian Studios? Game Director Swen Vincke shared new details on this in an interview.

In a recent video interview by the Dungeons & Dragons YouTube channel, Vincke revealed that the console launch meant he was essentially “done” with the game. He then clarified that while his team will be handling the post-release patches like the big fixes for Karlach and the aggressive horny companions, he himself will be working on something entirely different. He was quite vague with the details, but it was clear that he had a new game in the works.

Interviewer Todd Kenreck tried to poke at what the new game is all about but Vincke did not budge at all. “You’re actually asking me about my next game, so I’m not going to answer that,” he said. “The PS5 version is shipping, we’ve just uploaded it, so I’m done. I’m going to move on to the next game.”

What could be the next game Vincke is planning on? Who knows, but if it is him on the helm, it is going to be another big hit of an RPG to enjoy.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now on PC.
