How do you get the Rune of the Wolf in Baldur’s Gate 3? The rune acts as a key item to a hidden room deep within the Druid Grove that contains a powerful weapon, and the path to obtaining it involves various options to choose from depending on your preferences. Read ahead as we go through the ways of getting the Rune of the Wolf in BG3.
BG3: How to get the Rune of the Wolf
The Rune of the Wolf is being held by Rath who resides within the Emerald Grove in the Druid Grove. There are three ways of getting the rune from Rath:
- Complete the Save the Refugees and Save the First Druid quests
- Pickpocket the rune from Rath
- Kill Rath
Complete the Save the Refugees and Save the First Druid quests
After helping the tieflings safely move out of the grove and once Halsin returns from the Goblin Camp, you will then be told by Halsin to seek out Rath for your reward. Rath will then give you the Rune of the Wolf.
Pickpocket the rune from Rath
Before attempting to do this, it’s best to create a save in case all your attempts to pickpocket fails. You can then sneak up to Rath and pickpocket the rune off of him. After pickpocketing Rath and then you talk to him to claim your reward after rescuing Halsin, he will try to give you the rune, but then exclaims that it is missing. He will then just give you thanks for saving the grove.
Kill Rath
If you take the side of the goblins, you can then kill Rath and loot the rune off from him. Siding with the goblins will sever your relationship with the grove, and so everyone residing in it will be hostile against you.
BG3: How to use the Rune of the Wolf
In the northern part of the Emerald Grove is where the Wolf statue stands. It is surrounded by four pedestals, and one of them is missing the rune. Place the Rune of the Wolf on this empty pedestal, then activate all of the pedestals to reveal a secret passage underneath the statue.
Follow the path down and you will arrive in the Hidden Vault where you can get the Sorrow glaive and the Robe of Summer. There are also a bunch of scrolls and items within the crates that you can loot.
