In the latest patch notes from Larian Studios for Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 8’s stress test environment is already live for players to try before the update goes up in the near future.
Larian Studios noted in the patch notes on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website that cross-play will be enabled for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms by creating or joining a lobby. This feature, however, is only available for those who are given access to the Patch 8 Stress Test.
Furthermore, the long-awaited split-screen co-op feature for Xbox Series S has arrived in Patch 8.
Since the game’s launch on Xbox Series X|S, the studio had issues integrating an important feature, leading them to delay the release date for a few months on the Xbox platform. Due to hardware limitations presented by Microsoft’s underpowered Xbox Series S, Larian Studios stripped away the split-screen co-op feature.
Those players participating in the Patch 8 stress test can try out the split-screen co-op feature on their Xbox Series S.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
