    Block of Ice Location – Monster Hunter Rise

    A Block of Ice is used to upgrade players’ weapons and craft armor in Monster Hunter Rise. But to do so, players must find a particular monster that drops it. This guide will teach more about where to get this material and what can be made out of it, so read on and enjoy.

    What is a Block of Ice in Monster Hunter Rise?

    In Monster Hunter Rise a Block of Ice is a material that is considered a very rare item that usually drops from a Goss Harag. After defeating a Goss Harag, it will melt snow from its body that forms into this ice clump on its legs at will. The Block of Ice rarity is 4 stars and can be sold for at least 820Gs.

    Where To Find The Block of Ice in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

    The Block of Ice can be found in the Frost Islands. The Frost Islands are located to the east of the game’s map and are characterized by their frozen tundras and snowy landscapes.

    Once players have reached the Frost Islands, they will need to explore the area to find the Goss Harag. As mentioned, you have to defeat a Goss Harag to get the Block of Ice, and defeating this yeti-like creature will be very easy as long players remember the following tips:

    • Beware of any water and ice attacks coming from this dual-wielding monster
    • If frozen or afflicted by Iceblight, be sure to use a Nullberry or use dodge roll to negate it
    • Use sharp weapons and aim at the Goss Harag’s legs to immobilize him
    • Use blunt weapons to destroy all ice weapons that Goss Harag to deal more damage
    • Make sure to use Fire and Thunder Elements to weaken Goss Harag
    • When enraged, be sure to hit parts of his body that turn red as it serves as its weak points.
    Where To Find The Block of Ice in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - Goss Harag

    When fighting the Goss Harag, players should remember that it has a 33% chance of dropping the block of ice especially when it breaks during a regular fight. When it is captured, a 15% chance of yielding a Dense Block of Ice in the ‘quest complete’ screen will be shown. If killed though, 12% chance of yielding a Dense Block of Ice in the ‘quest complete’ screen will only show.

    How to farm Block of Ice in Monster Hunter Rise

    The best way to farm Block of Ice is by taking on quests that have the Goss Harag. Players can either choose to go on a Village quest or a Hub quest with their friends on the following quests:

    • Abominable Snow-beast
    • Beastly Chaos
    • The Blizzard Blender
    • A Frosty Stalemate
    •  It’s Gonna Get You!

    How to use the Block of Ice in Monster Hunter Rise

    The Block of Ice is known for crafting weapons and upgrading one’s materials in the game. Below is the list of weapons and upgrades that the Block Of Ice can be used by players:

    Crafting Weapons

    • Chillblade I – requires 3 Blocks of Ice
    • Crystalline Flower I – requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Gelid Mind I – requires 3 Blocks of Ice
    • Surprise Axe I – requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Gossblade I – requires 1 Block of Ice
    • Gossgun I – requires 1 Blocks of Ice
    • Mincing Blade I – requires 3 Blocks of Ice
    • Yeti Hammer – requires 2 Blocks of Ice

    Upgrading Weapons

    • Arko Nulo White II – requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Amber Slash II requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Bastine Edge II requires 1 Block of Ice
    • Cocytus – requires 1 Block of Ice
    • Fiore Nulo White II – requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Gelid Mind I – requires 1 Block of Ice
    • Magia Charm II – requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Gossglaive I – requires 3 Blocks of Ice
    • Goss Lance I – requires 2 Blocks of Ice
    • Mincing Blade I – requires 3 Blocks of Ice
