Borderlands 3 Reportedly Running Up to 120fps on Next-Gen Consoles

According to some players who have played Borderlands 3 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the game seems to have more than just a small boost-up.

Players online have reported that the game on next-gen consoles are running up to 120fps. While game developer Gearbox has not revealed any details yet on how much improvement will it have on next-gen consoles, this seems to be one of the many “hidden” upgrades that players could find.

Several players on Resetera have been putting posts and evidence that the game is pleasantly running on such frame speeds. According to the first and original poster, he believes that it is running on 120fps on PS5 when set to performance mode. He tested it with a PS5 and LG C9 Smart TV.

Another poster reported that he used an Xbox Series X console this time but with the same LG C9. Again, he remarks that he patched it and chose the performance mode to run it. Another Xbox Series X user revealed that he played on 4K mode, but it showed a ton of frame drops. When run on 1080p, it had solid frame speeds, even on four-player split-screen mode.

The weird thing is Gearbox has not confirmed anything about this.

Borderlands 3 is now available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
