Eli Roth’s upcoming Borderlands film has finally gotten a theater release date after all this time.

As part of the celebrations of launching San Diego Comic Con this week, it has now been confirmed by Deadline that the upcoming Borderlands film will be in theaters this coming August 9, 2024. Unfortunately, there was no trailer or any new images to show during the announcement, but there were some small details released.

We’ve Got a Plot Summary

According to the announcement, a plot summary was revealed. It states that Borderlands will star Cate Blanchett as Lilith who is a treasure hunt who has returned to Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas who is Edgar Ramirez’s character. Joining her adventures are Roland (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Claptrap who is played by Jack Black. This team will be looking for the girl while fighting off monsters and killing bandits along the way.

Roth Not Replaced

It was also clarified what happened to the rumor about Roth being replaced by Deadpool’s Tim Miller. It was actually Miller doing the reshoots while Roth was busy with something else. It was just a temporary gig for Tim.
