Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Getting New Game Mode Called Cutthroat

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has its release window updated too.

Sledgehammer Games has officially revealed the new game mode for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 called Cutthroat.

This new game mode was recently announced during the Cod: Next event. Along with other details, the event took a lot of time to discuss what to expect from the highly-anticipated multiplayer shooter. It was also announced that the upcoming mobile game Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been delayed to early 2024.

One of the notable topics discussed was the all-original game mode for the upcoming game called Cutthroat. This is a 3v3v3 team mode that will use Core maps and offers each player only a single life per round. Each team will need to eliminate the other teams or wait for overtime to capture a flag. This balances the aggression and strategy in equal measure.

Aside from Cutthroat, another notable topic discussed was the returning feature Ground War. It will use sections of the new Call of Duty Warzone map as its basis. Also for the first time since Call of Duty: WWII, is War mode. It will feature large teams of players fighting across a purpose-built map to complete multiple objectives like escorting vehicles to capturing points and later launching an ICBM.

In related news, Activision and Sony revealed the PlayStation exclusive DLC pack for the game. Players who pre-order the game via PlayStation Store can get the Lockpick Operator Pack when it launches. It includes the Van Goated Lockpick Operator Skin, the AMRican Gothic Weapon Blueprint, and the Starry Knife Melee Weapon Blueprint.

“With light fingers but a hard fist, Elodie ‘Lockpick’ Micheaux is a cunning Art Thief with noble motivations, and an exciting new operator to come to Modern Warfare,” according to Activision.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
