The MP40 is one if not the best submachine gun to use in Call of Duty Vanguard that using it as is offers good range, decent accuracy, a lot of firepower, and quick and steady bursts. Learn how to optimize this gun into a different monster of a beast in battle.
The SMG is best known for its quick and steady burst-fire and if timed right, can quickly kill an enemy in just a few shots. The only problem is, most of those bullets gets wasted and you end up with an empty clip, but the MP40 is quite different. It is too accurate and recoil is so minimal that a few clicks is all you need to tip over your opponent. If it gets loaded with the best attachments and perks though, it becomes the quickest and most lethal SMG of them all.
Call of Duty Vanguard Best MP40 Attachments Loadout
The MP40 is a good weapon to have on its own, but in order to optimize its maximum potential, you need to use specific attachments for it.

- Optic: Slate Reflector

- Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
- Magazine: 7.62 Tokarev 32 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: Lengthened

The MP40 is best with the F8 Stabilizer for its muzzle as it improves accuracy and damage range to a decent percentage. The Krausnick 317MM 04B barrel attachment is good as well in order to stabilize this particular SMG. You can now have better gun control and scope sway is less with this attachment combo.
The optic attachment is still a personal preference for the player, but please be reminded that there are scopes that can give you negative effects. The one we chose is the Slate Reflector since it helps as a good scope and no negative effects.
The VDD 34MM Padded Stock is the best choice for the MP40 as it offers a lot of improvements like better recoil control, accuracy, flinch resistance, and recoil recovery. Movement speed and Sprint to Fire Speed suffers a bit, but that can be compensated with other attachments.
The M1941 Handstop is the best choice for an underbarrel as it offers an increase to mobility. This is the one that could compensate for the VD 34MM Padden Stock’s negatives as it increases Sprint to Fire Speed.
For the magazine, the 7.62 Tokarev 32 Round Mags are the best for the MP40. It does have slight downsides, but the perks are a lot. Increased recoil control and accuracy, aim down sight speed, fire rate, and movement speed. Also it conceals players when firing. Pair that with Lengthened for Ammo Type in order to increase Bullet Velocity. Reduces time to kill and long-ranged targets easier to hit.
The Granular Grip is the best grip to use with the MP40 as it furthers aiming stability, aim walking steadiness, and aim walking movement speed. Aiming at targets while mobile will be faster compared to standard versions.
Vital is quite important for most weapons in Call of Duty Vanguard as it increases the chance to deal critical damage by just hitting the upper chest area. The Quick kit is also the best as it increases the sprint speeds of a player.
MP40 Best Perks
There are three perks that we suggest to use if you are going to bring an MP40 to a gunfight.
Perk 1 – Ghost
Ghost is the best first Perk you should use in order to be “invisible” from radars. You can just skitter around the battlefield carefree.
Perk 2 – Tracker
Tracker is the second Perk you should choose since you will be tracking down enemies to where they are hiding. If you use the MP40, you should be moving around and not hiding in one spot.
Perk 3 – Double Time
Double Time is the third and last Perk you should choose the most common chosen Perk for the SMGs weapon class. It increases the duration of Tactical Sprint and the crouch movement is improved by 30 percent.
MP40 Secondary Weapon, Equipment and Field Upgrade
Since the MP40 is already a burst-type weapon, it makes no sense to use another burst type secondary weapon. It would be best to use the Top Break revolver. While it has low firing rate, it compensates with the damage. Use a Stim for a Tactical and a regular hand grenade for the Lethal Equipment. Lastly, Armor is still the best Field Upgrade to use for extra defense against bullets.
With this loadout, the regular MP40 has now become a lethal death weapon with mobility and quick bursts. A definite loadout to use and hopefully useful for your future battles ahead in multiplayer.
