Developer Raw Power Games showcased a new gameplay trailer for Chronicles: Medieval during Summer Game Fest 2026, offering a closer look at its large-scale warfare and confirming a third playable faction ahead of the game’s Early Access launch later this year.
Set during the Hundred Years’ War, Chronicles: Medieval is a historically grounded open-world sandbox that places players in the middle of medieval Europe, where they can rise from obscurity, build armies, forge alliances, and shape their own legacy through war and politics.
The newly released gameplay trailer, narrated by actor Lars Mikkelsen, highlights the scale of the game’s battles, featuring clashes between infantry, cavalry, and ranged units in large medieval engagements. According to Raw Power Games, all footage shown was captured directly from the game.
Alongside the trailer, the studio confirmed that the Holy Roman Empire will join England and France as a fully playable faction. Each faction will feature its own units, strategic strengths, and unique perspective on the conflict unfolding across Europe.
A key feature of Chronicles: Medieval is its hybrid combat system, which allows players to act as both battlefield commander and frontline warrior. Rather than issuing orders from a detached tactical view, players remain directly involved in combat while commanding longbowmen, cavalry, crossbowmen, and men-at-arms in real time.
Beyond warfare, players will be able to explore a sprawling sandbox spanning the British Isles, France, and the Holy Roman Empire. Character progression, army recruitment, diplomacy, and reputation-building all play a role in shaping a player’s journey through the medieval world.
Raw Power Games says the Early Access version will provide a substantial foundation for the experience, with plans to expand content, deepen gameplay systems, and support community feedback throughout development. The studio also intends to place a stronger emphasis on modding support as the game moves toward its full release.
Chronicles: Medieval is scheduled to enter Early Access on PC via Steam later in 2026.
