Several rumors say that the recently pulled video game Cooking Mama: Cookstar had some sort of bitcoin mining feature. The developers have finally made a statement denying this claim and fans are backing it up with facts.
Cooking Mama: Cookstar mining bitcoin rumor untrue
The game developer of the cooking game, 1st Playable, has recently replied to many inquiries from people who were intrigued of it when it was launched but now pulled out from the Nintendo eShop. Some people from the gaming community have actually explained to others that the rumor is quite untrue. They revealed that the blockchain code that was found by dataminers was actually a real code that manages digital and physical IDs so that the game can be resold by the consumer. In short it allows used digital games.
The dataminers must have misunderstood the code, made some assumptions, and just blew up. There are other dataminers who have been digging up the code and have actually found out that the rumor was totally untrue. Some players who have a copy of the game claimed that the game could not function without an internet connection. Fans who also have copies easily dispelled that claim and provided evidence that it could play just fine on airplane mode.
So in the meantime, the game is not available on eShop. It is available via physical copies, if you can find one in this pandemic crisis.
Thanks Siliconera.
