How to unlock the Local Produce quest
During your second week on the farm, you will receive a letter from Sam inviting you over to the General Store.
Local Produce Objectives
Once you arrive at the General Store, Sam will talk to you about their understocked local produce section. He then asks for your help to produce more Bronze Quality produce from your farm in exchange for some extra rewards.
You will need to ship out x50 bronze quality vegetables and x25 bronze quality fruit. Shipping out the vegetables won’t be a problem, as you’ll have them right away. As for the fruits, you will either need to raise the Town Rank to Rank E in order to unlock the fruit seeds at the store or wait for Summer when you can buy Blueberry seeds. There are also scavengeable Mangosteen fruits in the Forest that count towards the objective, but they won’t always be of bronze quality.
To ensure that most of your crops will be at least bronze quality at harvest, you will have to use fertilizer as you plant the seeds or upgrade your seeds/plants quality over at the Laboratory in exchange for x5 Bronze Kelp Essence for seeds or x6 Bronze Kelp Essence for plants, plus 2,000 coins each.
After shipping the required produce, you will complete the quest and be rewarded with 1,000 coins. You will also activate the Town waypoint which allows you to fast travel to the waypoint near the General Store.
