Valve has officially launched Counter-Strike 2 on PC via Steam today.
Earlier this year, Valve shocked the gaming community that it was developing a sequel to their favorite first person shooter Counter Strike. The developers have been testing this for months and after completing them, it is now available to download for PC players via Steam.
A new trailer was also released, which showcases the transition from the original game to the new, shiny sequel with new content, new game mechanics, new 3D character models, and more.
Counter-Strike 2 was first announced in March 2023. It was revealed to be running on Source Engine 2 which is the same game engine used on other Valve titles like Half-Life: Alyx, and Dota 2. This is not a separate sequel to the original game, but a major free update to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Counter-Strike 2 adds upgrades and redesigns to the game’s maps. It introduces the ability for players to refund their weapons if they accidentally purchased the wrong item.
