Game studio CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that the most anticipated video game Cyberpunk 2077 release date has been moved again.
According to the game studio, the release will be 21 days later than the original launch, which is now December 10. They first apologized for the unfortunate announcement.
The studio revealed that they have the biggest challenge of shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC at the same time. They are required to prepare and test the 9 versions of the game while working at home. This was the cause of the delay, but they have to make sure that everything must run smoothly when it launches to the public. They are also aware that 21 days might seem unrealistic, but to them it really does.
CDPR explained that going gold does not mean that it is now ready for shipment. Yes, the development is complete, but testing and making sure everything is in working order is still needed. They confessed the time period for that was undercalculated and they apologize for that.
Everyone is disheartened by this news, but at least CDPR is telling us what is happening behind everything. Until then, we will just have to wait.
Cyberpunk 2077 will now launch on December 10 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
