Game studio CD Projekt RED recently hosted a short conference call to answer some investor questions due to the delay of upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077. One of the many details revealed answered a very important inquiry for many fans.
The game studio revealed its plans on how to approach the next-gen technology and it plans to handle the upgrade process. Since the delay has made it closer to the release date of the next-generation consoles, the studio revealed that the upcoming game will look better on next-gen platforms on day one.
Aside from that, the studio will be working on a better, more “robust” upgrade for the game in order to take advantage of the next-generation console hardware. This will be introduced in the form of a patch when it comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X. It will be released after the game’s launch.
Another bonus for this great news is that players who bought the game for the current-gen consoles will be able to get a free upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series X respectively. This could be compensation for the recent delay of its launch.
Cyberpunk 2077 will now release on Nov. 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will be available when the consoles launch.
