A new report claims Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is the biggest budget DLC that CD Projekt RED has made to date compared to previous ones from other games.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Bigger Than Witcher 3 Expansions
The claim comes from an article published by Polish financial newspaper Parkiet (via Wccftech). The report claims that CDPR IR Manager Marek Bugdoł said that the expansion will be the studio’s biggest content made for a game yet. Compared to other DLCs and expansions like The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion, Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming add-on expansion is by far bigger.
It was also reported that Bugdoł revealed the studio is quite happy about the current state of the expansion. This was then confirmed further by Wccftech in a new statement given by the game studio.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty “Size” Confirmed by CDPR
While Bugdoł did not confirm when the add-on marketing campaign would start or the DLC’s release date, he did confirm the studio’s current development status of the upcoming expansion. “Yes, we feel comfortable with the current state of work on the add-on,” he says. He also confirmed that this is the biggest addition in the studio’s history.
The Game Awards 2022 Announcement
Way back at The Game Awards 2022, CDPR confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty was the game’s first and only expansion. The new expansion will be set in Dogtown, a new district in Night City, and follows the story of Idris Elba’s character, Reed. Note that this expansion will only be available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Phantom Liberty launches sometime in 2023.
