CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that the upcoming new DLC expansion Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will introduce a particular new content that fans will really like.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Tragic Endings
Cyberpunk 2077 had very tragic endings even though they were the best ones according to various walkthrough sites. For players who have not played or completed the game yet, this will be spoilers so better skip this. Otherwise, continue. In the ending, depending on the actions of V, the one who will have to be sacrificed will either be V or Johnny Silverhand, the legendary ghost that was staying in his/her/their mind all throughout the game. After that, the credits roll and there are no secret endings to unlock. This seems to change with the upcoming new DLC.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty release date was recently announced and also revealed more details about it with a new trailer. It will introduce a new story and a lot of new characters to encounter, which will be set in the crazy district of Dogtown. Keanu Reeves will be making a comeback as Johnny Silverhand with the addition of popular actor Idris Elba who plays a major character in the expansion, Solomon Reed. It also adds new content that was much speculated about a while ago.
Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Introduces “New Content”
CDPR Game Director and VP Gape Amatangelo spoke with WCCFTech sharing details about the expansion in full scope and explaining why the team chose Elba. He shared about where the expansion will take place in terms of the main game, which will be “in the midst” of it. It has also been confirmed that it will offer different endings based on what happens during the story. To sweeten it, he revealed that depending on how the DLC would end, it is possible to unlock a new ending for the base game.
New Ending Still Vague
The director did not get into detail with this particular “ending”, but it does give fans hope that finally, they might be able to avoid the tragedy that befalls their favorite characters in the game. It also does not confirm though that it would turn the ending into a good one, who knows, it would only make it worse instead. Still, there is a glimmer of hope for the fans this time around and that might just improve review scores for the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty officially launches on September 26, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
