Daedalic Entertainment has announced that it will focus more on publishing moving forward.
Daedalic Entertainment, the game company behind the failure of a game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, has now announced that it will stop all of its projects that they were developing recently. Internal projects including another Lord of the Rings game will halt their development and the restructuring of the company will begin. Unfortunately, this will force the management to do layoffs as the company will now focus more on publishing. German outlet GamesWirtschaft reports that 25 employees will be affected, but Daedalic says it will support their former employees in finding new opportunities within their network.
Daedalic Entertainment is a German company that has both published and developed games since 2007. It has published many games in its history, including Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, AER: Memories of Old, its most popular game Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, Silence, and a lot more. It has also developed many games, and they are known more on point and click titles. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was their first title that make them veer from the point-and-click titles, but that actually was the cause of their downfall.
